8th Grade Spring Activities

We blinked and 8th grade is over - J&T stayed busy this Spring with their favorite activities and here are some highlights....
Taylor has put significant effort into progressing in Theater and has achieved some great outcomes!  Goldilocks was the Spring play - she scored a meaty role as "The Narrator" and was constantly showing up in scenes!  She had some great moments including:
Reminding Cinderella of her lengthy chores list,
dismissing the "Big Bad Wolf"
explaining the story to the audience & protecting Goldilocks
Taylor & friend Evelyn were student directors of Persephone - leading the effort brought stress & camaraderie but we all agreed after the curtain closed that we enjoyed her onstage more then backstage
Checking on the cast minutes before the show
High 5's after a great show!
At the end of year banquet Taylor looked amazing in her sharp blue dress and brought home "Best Supporting Actress" for her role as "Friendship" in Everyman

Taylor also has been working hard at Color Guard - we are so excited to watch her perform at Fall Football games!

Taylor & Mom kept the Spring tradition of the Easter Bunny cake alive
We found some time for Spring Soccer and even Dad got into the act when he came out of retirement and trolled the sidelines for a game!
Taylor has a strong Throw-In and gets to show it off weekly
A nice highlight - Taylor scored the opening goal in a late weeknight game under the lights - she even found a moment to wave to her Dad on the sideline

Jordan played a lot of Soccer this Spring - she got to face off vs. 3 Fusion teammates during Middle School games

Her best performance this past season was against FC Dallas where she led the team with a Goal & Assist in a 3-0 victory

Playing the in NPL League stretched the team - in March we faced off against the #3 ranked '08 team in North Texas - there is nothing like the long ride to the BVB Training Grounds (Go Dortmund!)
Fusion was game but the # 3 ranked Renegades were better - the team held up well in a 0-2 loss

All work & no play...the Fusion team enjoyed a night out at an FC Dallas game

Watching their phones or watching the game?
After a 2nd place finish in PPIL - the team bonded with a Paintball outing - for the record, not Jordan's favorite activity!
We are proud of J&T who both earned the President's award of Academic Excellence and managed to look awkward during the group photo
8th Grade is over- that's all folks!
