Disney Vacation - Animal Kingdom

Day 3 of the trip we were all excited to be headed to Animal Kingdom!  Our Fast Passes included the Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, & Dinosaur!  We took in the Safari and Pangani Forest Exploration Trail early in the day and were impressed with the Gorillas & Elephants.  We had reservations at "Tusker House" where we had lunch and caught up with some characters.  Later, the girls took on Dinosaur and at the end of the day Taylor found herself facing a Yeti.  This was our wettest day of the week as afternoon showers had us questioning our "no poncho" policy - we managed the weather by taking in a few indoor shows until it dried out for our last few hours of the day - only to be later drenched leaving the park at closing time!  Great day filled with lots of walking - we clocked our most steps of the week at 25k!
Girls - watch out for Stitch!
So much to look at
Headed to Africa
The Gorillas wow'd us on the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail

What do you think this is a zoo?
On the Kilimanjaro Safaris, we saw big horns -
and really big horns!
The Elephants were out & about

The Black Rhino's were massive
The girls loved the Flamingos...
...and Zebras
Just prior to lunch - a character visit with some Jungle Book stars
The girls enjoy a hug just outside "Tusker House"
We caught up with Donald & Daisy Duck at lunch

We had a brief scare as Dinosaur was shut down - but it didn't last long and soon we were headed in

Mom & Taylor look left as Dad & Jordan look right - we must be surrounded by Dinosaurs!!!
We spotted this Komodo Dragon on the Maharajah Jungle Trek
There is a 6 foot wing span on this bat!
Gorgeous Macaw
Taylor finds something on the trail...
...and so does Jordan
Our daughters the trendsetters -  they get an Asian dance lesson and...
...in minutes a large crowd has joined!
I just want to bang on these drums all day!
One of Dad's favorite pictures of the trip - Taylor on Expedition Everest - which was a full blown hard core roller coaster!  She looks so small in the seat but she showed some big courage and still boasts to others great tails of how she conquered the "Yeti Ride" - thumbs up to Dad who can be seen holding his little girls hand in the picture
Next Blog - May the Force be with us at Hollywood Studios on Star Wars Weekend!
