A nice Spring Saturday afternoon brought some big plans to the Kalmar house - a trip to Medieval Times! The girls enjoyed the pageantry of a Middle Ages contest and even got a chance to check out some of the animal performers before the show started. Once the lights dimmed the family was captivated by the sights and sounds and we enjoyed digging into an feast using just our hands, as we were reminded by our Serving Wench that there were "no utensils during Medieval Times." The show was sensational and by the time it had ended good conquered evil. What a great way to spend a Saturday!
Clear the way - here comes the King -
- to address the peasants!
The girls get a close look at a Falcon...
...and a brilliant Steed
Dad and daughters in anxious anticipation of the show
It was hard to get all 4 faces in this "selfie"
This white horse dazzled the crowd in the open
I know they didn't have utensils - I'm also pretty sure they didn't have microphones but that didn't hold back the royal announcer
These horses showed great precision
The evil Knights get ready to joust
The Blue Knight looks to fire up the crowd
Our county was defended by the Red & Yellow Knight
We even snagged a rose tossed into the crowd!
What a cool place and a great show!
