April 8th was as unique a day as we ever have had here in North Texas - thanks to the long-awaited arrival of a Full Solar Eclipse, including 4 minutes of "Totality" - Although under-informed local weather personalities taunted residents for days about the threat of heavy cloud cover, the obstacles did not manifest and we had a great view of the action! The entire event spanned 2 hours but the peak was ~ 1:40pm local time when things got dark!
Jordan weaseled her way out of school and we took advantage of working from home to view from our backyard - Taylor observed from Wakeland High School
Looking good in our glasses
Up in the sky
Snickers joins us + cool crescent shadows

The "Moment of Totality"
A random jet sails towards "Totality"
The temperature dropped 10+ degrees, birds stopped chirping, and sensor lights flashed into action
Snickers managed to keep it together despite the sudden change in conditions
Enjoying the moment - we didn't want it to end!
Awesome "Diamond Ring" shot compliments of our neighbor
The Eclipse was "super cool" and I understand better why people travel long distances to be within the "Path of Totality"
