Dominican Republic - On the Beach

We were excited the resort had a swimmable beach and also made for great walking - better heading West vs. East.  We procured shells, carvings, necklaces and other trinkets from the locals and even found a nice lagoon to lounge in...

After a long day of travel we headed directly to the beach the 1st night to unwind and feel the sand between our toes

This was the view down the East side...
...and West side of the beach
Direct view South from the shoreline towards the resort
Flags told us when the beach was open for business
Jordan gets her picture with an Iguana and all the girls enjoy the Ocean
When we arrived on the island the beach was in great shape - as the week progressed several waves of Sargassum washed-up onshore - depending on where you liked to swim, you could see a lot of it
Real bad Sargassum event on the East side of the beach
House on the West side
Row of shops about half a mile West of the resort
On a perfect afternoon for it, J&T found their way into an "official" Beach Volleyball game - both kids made a high impact in the matches with their team sweeping 2 contests
Taylor had several great "Digs" and scored 4 consecutive points in the 2nd match

Taylor makes a nice catch between plays and both girls look up at a high serve
Snorkeling with Sharks & Stingrays
A few days into the trip we were off to snorkel with aquatic life on a reef offshore.  It was a great morning highlighted by swimming with 8ft long Nurse Sharks and later Stingrays.  We finished up with a tour local coastline and waded in the ocean water at a Shallow Pool
Mom & Jordan make their presence felt and everyone checks out the reef through the glass bottom
