After a fairly mild winter, all of Texas was walloped with a 100 year storm, plunging the normally posh location into single digit temperatures for days and below freezing for over a week. The positive is that Jordan & Taylor could enjoy the snowy conditions for the first time and we would flourish while being shut in with all our great amenities...or would we? As we hit the single digits the power outages started - rotating on and off for days. Others had it far worse and we are happy to have pulled through and made the most of the crisis.
The initial onset was manageable - a light dusting of snow and below freezing temperatures - Dad headed out on Day 1 to pick up Jordan from a birthday sleepover
Another round of snow on Day 2 brought a chance to shovel snow...
...Taylor gets her first experience with our coveted snow shovel
Winter games - we tried to "pack it" but this was a light fluffy kinda snow - much better for sledding...
...when there are not enough sleds you improvise and use pool tubes...
...and then just hang out

Dad managed not to miss any work by using portable lights, laptop battery power, and a hot spot
Cooking with gas!
Washing dishes using a battery powered lamp with a fire burning in the background
We enjoyed playing games like Scrabble while we were waiting for the lights
Weeks after the snow had disappeared, a City of Frisco truck ran a red light and crunched the front end of our Audi SQ5. The head of Risk Mitigation for the city proudly boasted of Frisco's 100% clean accident record as they answered hundreds of calls during the storm and later admitted this was their first accident since. We are happy no one was injured in the fender bender
