Colorado Springs Part 2 - 10th Birthday & More

As we continued through our amazing vacation we hit an incredible milestone - J&T's 10th birthday! We packed the agenda with all kinds of action to maximize the day.
We kicked off the decade celebration with an early drive to Canon City for some White Water Rafting!  What an incredible experience we had heading down the Arkansas River.  We were up for the task as we handled level 1,2, & 3 rapids for the 3 hour ride.  As we closed out the experience Taylor & Dad jumped in the river while Jordan got some help in the form of a push by our guide when she was having 2nd thoughts
We headed back for a cookout where the guides surprised us with some birthday cupcakes
On to the Royal Gorge!
We took a harrowing ride on a Gondola across the Gorge...
...but managed some smiles despite the heights
Views of the Royal Gorge & Suspension Bridge

Time for a Selfie - across the Gorge there were all kinds of attractions to keep the kids busy like Carousel rides,
A massive play area with Climbing Wall & Fountains
We were off to dinner at a famous Colorado Springs hot spot - Fargo's Pizza
Huge Sundae's
Back at the hotel the girls were wow'd with gifts & cards
We set some time aside for a tour led by Mom through milestone sites from her youth including her former house,
Local pool where she was a Lifeguard,
Elementary school with brilliant views of Pike's Peak, and in all the excitement Taylor lost a tooth (yes the Tooth Fairy made an appearance)
Last full day in the Springs and we were headed for a long hike at Seven Falls
Amazing scenery including the mountain streams and "Wrestling Bears" rock formation
We were greeted by multiple steep incline/several hundred step staircases to get up the mountain
On the mountain trail we found time to stop for a Selfie and Jordan checks out what must be a several hundred year old stacked rock formation
Breathtaking views from the mountain

Ahh yes - it is called Seven Falls for a reason

We made it to the Summit!  Time to celebrate & get some pictures

Exhausted from the day and week we headed to the pool for one last swim and got a final taste of nature when a deer wandered just outside the fence
We will always remember this summer for the great vacations!!!
