Summer Vacation Part 2: Vermont

After 3 great days in Boston we took to the roads for what turned out to be a difficult drive with limited food options and lots of traffic.  As we entered Vermont that all changed as we welcomed gorgeous scenery and lightly traveled roads.  It was great to be back at Dad's old summer getaway!

Family picture at Hogsback Overlook and the girls loved visiting the Bed & Breakfast's chickens each morning
Checking out downtown Wilmington - the famous flood lines & oversized chairs
Townhall & Chapman Antiques - a great place to catch the 4th of July fireworks
Dots Restaurant - fully rebuilt after being torn off its foundation in the '11 flood
The Classon's former summer retreat
Just down the street - Dad's favorite Vermont landmark - the Beaver Dam
Paying it forward - the girls get to bond with their 2nd cousins just like Dad did all those summers ago
The Next Day we headed to Retreat Farm in Brattleboro
Handling chickens

Great Grandma Classon and 6 of her Great Granddaughters
After the unseasonably hot day, everyone had some ice cream
We got to spend some time taking in the scenic views at local lakes
Skipping stones after a long walk & it was great to swim the crystal clear waters of Lake Whitingham - close to 30 years since the last time
The island we canoed to as kids
J&T enjoy the clean but chilly water
Selfies on the shoreline
Working the register at Chapman Antiques
Big family picture as we all watched the Fireworks from the store
