Fusion Soccer Fall '21

The soccer scene had some significant changes for Jordan this year.  After being a star on a 4-time League Champion squad in the FSA, Jordan took her talents to Club Soccer and after a host of tryouts, landed on Frisco Fusion!  We are proud of how Jordan has managed this change, raised her game against increased competition, and partnered with some like mined peers.  Fusion plays in 2 Associations - Plano Premier Invitational League (PPIL) and National Premier League (NPL).  Level of competition varies between the 2 with NPL being a step up.  She played in close to 20 games this Fall - we didn't take the camera out at all of them but here is what we captured...

Jordan jockeys for position in a Plano Premier qualifying tournament - she had a strong game in this 8am opening match scoring a Goal & notching an Assist in a 5-0 victory
Fusion marches to Midfield after a score and Jordan chats with teammate Haley during a break in the action - Jordan and Haley were in the same playgroup as infants and were reunited on Fusion - The team swept the August Premier Play-In Tournament with 3 consecutive wins!
The reward for the unbeaten tournament run was a trip to "Andy's" for Custard in lieu of practice
The next event was the late August "Summer Splash" tournament - the team had mixed success on Day 1 dropping a morning match and winning and afternoon contest - there was "no where to hide" from the sun & heat as afternoon temps approach 100 degrees and spectators built tents for shade
Just before the final match of the tournament, the team huddles in the shade as they get last minute instructors - this match would push Jordan as she would clock 60+ minutes due to teammate injuries - the additional time paid off as she collected an Assist albeit in a tough 2-3 loss.
After Labor Day the games started - it was a "Tale of 2 Seasons" as the team raced to a fast start in PPIL and struggled in NPL

Jordan bombs a Throw-In
On a beautiful early October Thursday evening, we headed to the Colony for a NPL game vs Sting - Jordan had a brilliant Assist off a cross pass using her Left foot in a close 1-2 loss.

Random circumstance brought a thin 11 player roster for a Columbus Day weekend PPIL match - Jordan had a strong effort consistently feeding the ball across the middle in a tough 1-0 win vs Dallas Roma on a 90+ degree day

The team would suffer its 1st PPIL misstep late in October with an early morning 0-0 tie against FC Dallas - Jordan works the outside while playing Midfield

Late in the PPIL season, Fusion would secure 1st place with a 3-2 win over a "stacked" Renegades team loaded with 5 illegal players - Jordan landed an Assist on a Corner Kick in the barn-burner victory.
The team enjoys spirit events throughout the season including Signing Party, Waterpark, Halloween themed practice, and Community Event

Paying it Forward - the kids pack lunches for a local food bank

Fusion finished the Fall PPIL season in 1st Place and we will generously say "bottom half" of NPL but "trending up" winning 3 of their last 4 matches!!!
#Go Fusion!
