RIP Max

It is with great sadness we tell you that Max the cat passed away on 3/11/16.  For the first time in 17 years there are no pets in our family.  Max had been flying solo in the house for about a year since Toby left us last Spring.  His popularity was at an all-time high and he got plenty of attention from Jordan & Taylor.  In his youth Max was an accomplished "Mouser" and delivered over a half dozen trophies to his parents over the years.  He was harmless to everyone else and we never heard him hiss during his life.  We'll miss his gentle nature, beautiful markings, white beard, and propensity to hang out on the couch.

Jordan & Taylor really enjoyed Max's companionship this past year

Max would curl up with just about anyone on the family room couch
Losing Max motivated us to dig up some old school photos -
as a young kitten he found plenty of places to hide in our Maryland apartment

Max inherited a big brother in Riley - here the two squared off for prime real estate on the kitchen table
We never had a chance to memorialize Riley.  Adopted by Caryn in June '99 he lived with us until August '11 when he succumbed to Feline Diabetes.  Riley was notorious for fetching things, loving catnip, getting UTI's, having "conversations", and sleeping on Caryn's pillow

Riley loved spying on us from the high ground
Until we meet again...
