Disney Cruise - Fun On The Boat

We took a different path on Thanksgiving break this year by ditching the traditional home cooked turkey and post meal shopping for a trip to Galveston and embarking on a 7 Day Disney Cruise aboard "The Wonder".  Loose lips sink ships so despite loading the car up with a pile of luggage we managed to keep the trip a secret from the girls until just before boarding.  We lucked out with amazing weather and had a great time sailing the high seas and maximizing the litany of activities the ship had to offer.

Thanksgiving night we arrived in Galveston and took some pictures by the sea wall - the next day we paused for a quick photo just before boarding the boat.
It didn't take long for the departure party to start and we were quickly celebrating our voyage with a host of Disney characters
Cruise Director Clayton gets silly with Donald while delivering his catch phrase, "Who's on vacation!!!"
Chip & Dale bring some energy while Jordan gets busy in the kids mosh pit
The first morning we had a date at the Disney Jr breakfast - Mom & girls put on the Disney headgear while we collected signatures & pictures from Doc Mcstuffins, Jake, and Princess Sophia

More character moments as Dad snaps one of what would be many trip selfies
Jordan & Taylor get a much better picture with Pluto and even share a nice moment with the ornery Captain Hook
Time to meet the Princesses!  We got some family pictures, signatures, autographs, and Jordan even received some advice from Ariel on how top be a proper princess

The nightly entertainment was best in class.  The girls dressed up for Pirate Night while Mom & Dad posed with an outstanding magician named "Mike Super" - he even made Dad's room key disappear!
Taylor finds her place in the world
We even made some time for basketball practice - Dad helps by grabbing a rebound
Up for some Foosball?  We played until Jordan's arm gave out!
Burning through quarters in the arcade - it was exciting to give Taylor lessons in the art of Ms. Pacman & Donkey Kong - Jordan stuck to racing & bowling

Dinner was a nightly way to come together - we're all dressed up for Formal Night prior to attending the Golden Mickey Award show
Lots of entertainment while we waited for our meals - Jordan pulled off a few magic tricks herself - here she makes a pen disappear...
...however she cannot quite figure out how a piece of paper our waiter tore up ended up just folded-up in her hands
The dinning service was amazing and our servers really added something to the experience
On a solemn note, this blog is dedicated to the memory of Phyllis Leigeb - in many ways this trip would not have been possible without her.
It's been a long day without you my friend, and I'll tell you all about it when I see you again...
Next blog - Disney Christmas!
