Lots of anticipation for Halloween this year in the Kalmar house. For weeks the costumes had been settled - Taylor wanted to be a black cat and Jordan a unicorn. Then it was just a matter of carving some pumpkins and hoping for good weather as we have endured a unseasonably wet & cold fall in North Texas. Well after hurricane like conditions the evening of October 30th, we enjoyed blue skies and mild temperatures for the big night. We started with a larger then expected gathering at the pavilion by the pool where you could feel the anticipation in the air. At dusk we were literally off and running! The fall season soccer training has paid off as the girls showed incredible resiliency and endurance as they pulled away from the pack as the night got darker. We saw some great costumes and ran into some friends from school but most importantly we had a blast and have a few buckets of candy to hold us over - what a great night!
Literally an army of kids getting unleashed on the Fairways!
Taylor's gone toe to toe with a zombie hoard before - she is unfazed by this mere prop!
Mom & Jordan grab the last quiet moment before the festivities
Off and running...
and running...
What did I get?!?!
Sneaking up to an unsuspecting home
The pink unicorn really stood out in the dark night
Taylor wasn't afraid to pose next to this spider
Candy break on the curb
After braving the scare tactics most the night, this was the one spot where the girls insisted Dad take them to the door!
Not seen since the early 90's, the Montclair St gorilla shows up in North Texas!
"Want some candy?"
